Hello From our President
Our year has indeed sprouted wings. Some of you may be doing some form of Oktoberfest celebration while others may be more focused on Halloween. Surely most of us are enjoying the opportunity to decorate with the flamboyance of fall. Mums and pumpkins as well as scarecrows are showing up all over the place. People are beginning to dream of soups and chilies and spicy desserts. Do enjoy this time as summer winds down and we pull out our winter warmies. See you soon.

Richard Shanahan's program on “Cover Crops, Assorted Mulches and How They Compost” will carry over to the Horticulture Table time.
As almost always:
Bring any plants of special interest and share information about them.
Bring plants or problems that need identification or help. If there is no solution at the meeting, it will be researched and we will get back to you. Remember to secure diseased or plants with insects in clear plastic bags
All items brought to the table MUST include the plant identification form with your name or it will not be discussed during the horticulture time. Plant identification forms are provided at the table.
Free raffle: Bring garden related items or items you no longer need: Garden books, magazines, plants not appropriate for the plant sale, decorative pots etc. Winners will be drawn after the break. Remember to check after the meeting for a winning draw.

Pat has sold her home and is moving to Indiana to be closer to her family. Pat, we're all going to miss you and you've done for BCMG. Hope the moves goes smoothly, and you enjoy your new home.
A great big thank you to Margareta Schumtzler for stepping up as co-chair. She and Betsy Durham lead this project, and we urge everyone to give them a hand this fall at the state park.
