Message From our President:
I am so glad to be working with all the wonderful Master Gardeners!
I hope you will enjoy this year working with me as well! Let's have fun sharing and working in our gardens plus our master gardening projects.
Oh, Adam was a Gardner, and God who made him sees
That half a proper gardener's work is done upon his knees,
So when your work is finished, you can wash your hands and pray.
For the Glory of the Garden, that it may not pass away!

As you are all aware, we are looking for 1-2 project leaders for Cooper Park. This project has a great centralized location in Mountain Home, and is a project with a great and interesting history. The addition of the medicine wheel garden this past year has only enhanced its appeal.
This is a high visibility garden as many people hike past the plantings on a daily basis, and is one of three gardens Master Gardeners maintain for the City of Mountain Home. The City enthusiastically supports our efforts to keep these portions of the Park District looking good.
Maintaining the projects is no different than taking care of your gardens at home. I know it takes a lot to step up and say, I'll do it. All of us don't mind lending our efforts to help at the projects, but not a lot of us want to say they'll be a project leader. That's why we try to get two people to chair each project, so you have someone to lean on and help with any decisions and plans. It has worked well at many of the other projects already, as other project leaders can tell you. Once you have your group together, things just flow easily.
If you'd consider taking this on, but only with the caveat that you have a co-chair, please come talk to me. If I can't find a co-chair, I won't hold your feet to the fire. For members of our new class, there is every reason to think you could serve in this capacity. We will make sure you get the support you need to get the job done.
So please, either call me at 219-776-9620, or see me at next week's meeting. If you have any interest in this project, let's chat and see what we can work out.
