Join us on a BUTTERFLY COUNT! It will take place on June 28. Our goal will be to record every butterfly we can find that day in a 15 mile diameter circle centered on Flippin, Arkansas. The leaders of this event are Theia Foley and Ruth Andre. We take all comers regardless of level of expertise or age.
The circle has been divided into 5 sections with each section having a leader. Participants will be assigned to a section group to count butterflies from approximately 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. The data is compiled by the North American Butterfly Association along with hundreds of other data sets produced by citizen scientists across the nation. Everyone is invited to a dinner at a friend’s house that evening to tally all species and individuals seen, share photos, and tell stories of the day.
Please contact Theia Foley firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to join us.
