What a great PED day at the Norfork Fish Hatchery. The sky was blue, the temperature warm, the companionship amazing, and the gardens are looking beautiful. If you have not seen the Hatchery gardens this year you are missing something.
Today our hard working group consisted of Rod and Kathy Gilmore, Donald Beard, Bob Jenkins, Barrie Hazelton, Ken Braswell, and Barb Goodlett. Thanks to each of them as this would not get done without them. We weeded and pulled out dead or dying flowers, dead headed the daffodils, jonquils, and iris, planted 108 colorful annuals and 6 lantanas, added additional mulch to the office and front sign beds, trimmed all the nandinas, and prepared and placed new border stones around new flower bed. Then we stopped for refreshments, handed out our door prize, and discussed ways to possibly improve the Japanese Serenity Garden area. We finished off the day with Barrie Hazelton giving us a presentation on her Russian Pomegranate tree. It was a wonderful day shared with good friends. Come join us at our next PED on July
