No weather worries last Tuesday 4/29 for our enhancement day. It was beautiful! Thanks to Kathy Hodnett, Phyllis Henley. Janie Robbins, Frank Sinning, Kathy Gilmore we were able to continue our progress in bringing the native garden back in shape. Thanks to their endeavors we were able to finish weeding and mulching the large garden. Yeah:) We enjoyed refreshments of brownies and trail mix while we identified the flowers that are currently blooming, such as Butterweed, Fleabane, White False Indigo and the Amsonia Bluestar.
We also talked about the presentation on 4/23 by the Arkansas Forestry Commission and what a great job that Ranger Scott Noble did. We are looking forward to their return in the Fall.
Now in order to maintain Clysta Willett in its current beautiful condition our next enhancement day will be Monday 5/11 starting at 8:30. We will continue to mulch as well as remove some Frostweed that has decided to occupy several areas of the garden. We will also begin to place some plant identification stakes.
Please put Monday 5/11 at 8:30 on your calendar for joining us at Clysta Willett.
