Much much thanks to Frank Sinning, Phyllis Henley, Kathy Gilmore, Rod Gilmore and Anita Emerson for attending yesterday's workday. With cloudy but dry skies we accomplished a lot. Weeding and mulching of 5 out of the 6 smaller beds was done and it looks wonderful. We also tried to tackle a small portion of the larger bed. The education information was on 6 tips for Effective Weeding. Quite appropriate for sure! I myself realized that my technique for removing weeds from the garden may in fact be cultivating weed seeds to begin growing. I do have extra copies of this great article so if you would like one please let me know.
Our next workday is scheduled for Thursday 4/23 starting at 8:30 am. The plan is to work from 8:30 to 10:00 then the Arkansas Forestry Commission will be there to share information on Tree Identification starting at 10:15. If you pre-ordered a book, I have picked those up and will bring them on the 23rd. If you are interested in ordering a book please email Carol at firstname.lastname@example.org. In that way I can contact the Forestry Commission and ask them to bring extra books. The cost is 5 dollars.
If the weather looks like it is going to be rainy on Thursday the 23rd,(currently that is the case) we will need to move the workday to earlier in the week. If that is the case a buddy message will be sent outlining the change.
